OUR CLIENTS TOOK 50 MEDALS AT THE 2009 GABF. We always like to think we might have had just a little part in this. Our clients show due diligence in QC and send us precious samples to see if they are on target with their beers. Shouldn’t you?
GABF: Those awards constituted 4 categories taking a Gold and a Silver, 4 categories taking a Silver and the Bronze, 4 Gold and Bronze and 1 taking Gold, Silver and Bronze (in one category - 3 clients took one each - we got all three!)

BDAS, LLC General News. Our Sensory Panel is now using exclusively the new computerized ballot. The program called SDCT (Sensory Data Collection Tool) is now also available for Trial Evaluation for anyone interested in using this in their own Sensory Labs. The program can generate a number of graph types and has new features being added to it weekly as Tony develops its capabilities. Aug 2. A note to illustrate a neat article on Whiskey.
“Whiskey had a patriotic flavor. It was an all-American drink, made in America by Americans from American grain, unlike rum, wine, gin, Madeira, brandy, coffee, chocolate, or tea.”
This statement came from a neat article in an issue of Colonial Williamsburg magazine that I found while staying in a very neat log-cabin home of one of my wife’s friends. Summer 08 issue: excerpt below.

And, of course, many new craft distillers are maturing away from simply mixing alcohol and water (vodka) into the manufacture of the more complex and rewarding drink of whiskey.
